It’s Believed That in 1950’s Chaudhary Raghvender Singh While Plotting GK 1 Was Advised to Donate Land for A Hanuman Temple to Offset the Curse of Unnatural Deaths in His Extended Family
It was reported in the March issue of Samvada that a lot of rumours were floating as regards the change of land use of the mandir parisar. A delegation of GK residents was assured by Poonam Singh (on behalf of the DLF foundation) that the stake holders of GKRA, market associations and eminent citizens would be inducted into the management and no decision regarding demolition/construction would be taken without their consent. Five months have gone by and nothing such has happened, instead the dharamshaala, dispensary and several other small hutments have been demolished.
The cleaning and cooking staff of the temple have been shifted out of the premises. The sweet shop owner and banquet operator were moved out a few months ago.
No bookings are being taken to hold functions/paaths etc. Wonder where the residents of GK will hold such congregations.
The South Delhi club was shut down a few years ago and now it seems even the Mandir parisar will be unavailable. This was the only place left in GK as it has nice surroundings and ample parking to hold congregations. Besides this is also the green lung of GK. If this were to turn into a concrete jungle, all of us will perish.
Most of the cows of the gaushaala have been moved out, only two remain. It makes one wonder again, why are they downsizing.
Gradually, all the local members of the management committee were eased out replacing them with outsiders. Wonder how that helps.
There seems to be a larger design taking shape very systematically over the last few years. The residents of Greater Kailash want to know of the plan and would appreciate a clarification from the management of the temple.
It may be pertinent to mention here, that as the story goes, When Chaudhary Raghvender Singh was plotting Greater Kailash in the late 50’s, there were a lot of unnatural deaths in the extended family. He was then advised to donate land for a Hanuman temple to try to offset the curse. Hence the foundation stone of the temple was laid on Baisakhi in 1962. Hope the present management of the DLF Foundation will not bring upon the curse by fiddling with the land use of the mandir complex.
