With the onset of the festive season come days we celebrate Navratri followed by Dussehra. It’s like a shout-out loud of ‘let the celebrations begin’. And what a way it was done this year at Lotus Boulevard!!! The fasting, Mandir Decor, Kanjak Poojan, Garba Raas… all were fabulously observed but the epitome of this celebration was Ramleela and Ravan Dahan organised by the cultural society of Lotus Boulevard.
LB Ramleela’s old masters were joined by new faces to organise and perform the Ramleela after a COVID gap. Performers practised day and night to bring authenticity to their characters. And the final product took the audience on a whirlwind journey of the biggest Indian Saga.
The performances were outstanding, particularly of Ravana, Suparnakha, Hanuman, Kaikeyi and Sita who did full justice to the role. The Vaanar Sena children did a fantastic job too. Let me also include that the choreography and direction was done with detailed accuracy.
The showstopper of the whole setup was the LED background of the stage that gave everyone a life-like experience of the Ramleela. Lanka Dahan, Sita Haran and Ravan Dahan were brought to life by the supreme hard work and dedication of the LB Cultural society in a way like never before. Kudos to all. Jai Siya Ram!!!
