Ramadan E Kareem In Lotus Boulevard Since 2015

Importance of the holy month and its pillars
Namaz
In addition to five times Namaz (prayers) in this holy month, we have a special recitation of the
Quran at the designated time called Taravi. It’s a congregational namaz which is held in the club where all Muslim residents offer namaz together and pray for the betterment of mankind.

This practice was initiated by Fatima Khanam in 2015 in Lotus Boulevard & has been followed since then.

Roza And Iftar
Fasting is called roza, which is an act of worship in which Muslims do not eat & drink and stay away from all indulgence. The word roza in Urdu has come from Persian (not Arabic) which is derived from the word Roz which means ‘day’ or ‘daily’.

It is said that any act of kindness during Ramadan is multiplied 70 times. So, everyone does good deeds in this holy month. Free Iftar packets are distributed to both fasting and non-fasting maids. This act of giving has been initiated by Dr. Nusrat Nabi (T28 – 603).

Charity
The act of fasting calls for Muslims to practice self-discipline and sacrifice as well as to reflect upon and show compassion for the poor and less fortunate. Muslims are reminded to be generous and increase their charitable activities.

As a result, during Ramadan, much charitable giving (food, clothes, shoes, medicines, educational school fees, shoes, business help, etc) is done by the community.

Khatam Al-Quran
Khatam al-Quran is the complete recitation of the Quran by repeating after the teacher. The teacher will recite a portion of the Quran and the pupils will then repeat after him in unison. On this day, iftar and dinner is kept, and all families pray together.

This was organised by Hossain (T15) and Imran Yazdani (T9).

Eid Namaz
This Namaz is offered together in the morning around 8:30. Then, a long dua is made for the betterment of mankind to promote peace and good health. Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration is primarily with dinner and by wearing new clothes, greeting our neighbours and sending them seveiyan.

We, at Boulevard, have been celebrating Eid with great enthusiasm and zest.
