In the 36 years I have lived in this sector, I have not witnessed such unprovoked, uncontrolled depravity of a so-called civilised society in a public forum which spiralled totally out of control-
during the AGM of the club.
What started as a normal meeting of members with the usual question being asked of the managing committee suddenly took a very ugly turn degenerating into a screeching, shouting, sloganeering by the wives of the yet to be elected candidates in total disregard of the chair and the senior members present.
If this is the look of what is to come, I would rather spend the twilight years of my life in tranquillity of my home with a few gracious, less ambitious friends and not in a society which boasts of belonging to a VIP sector but behaves like people in a fish market, shoving, jostling to be able to sit on committees.
Did I spend 11 years of hard work to bring this institution to this state???
