The much awaited, much delayed project, finally saw the light of the day on 5April, in the playground area of S Block Park.
The project was sanctioned way back in the year 2021, site was surveyed but due to covid & a suspended MCD, it got delayed.
The ground breaking ceremony was performed on 26 Mar, during the felicitation function of our Minster & The Hon’ble Mayor.
S Block Park is spread over three acres & the catchment area is quite big. Even with a slight rain, the area in & around used to get flooded & most of the water just evaporated. S-406 side was the worst affected.
It is expected that lakhs of liters of water shall be captured & underground water level, around the park will be recharged. There are couple of borewells inside the park for supplying water to households & park & those will get ample supply of water.
