R-Day Celebrations At Retreat

The Retreat had a Republic Day celebration like every year with residents joining in good numbers, despite the bad weather -to celebrate the republic day and the nation at large. March past and Flag unfurling were followed by songs, dance, poetry recital, and impromptu regional performances. Enthusiastic residents of different age groups came forward and performed. Senior residents opened the event with some beautiful singing. Kids as young as 3 years sang rashtra gaan, some recited poetry on The Nation and some performed classical dance on Saraswati Vandana as the day coincidentally was Vasant Panchami as well. At the end of the brief celebration residents had a hearty breakfast catching up with each other.
