Sector 50 F Block

Public Nuisance and Inconvenience Due to Construction Activities

Recently, a request letter (dated 19 Sept) was sent to CEO Noida, Lokesh M, regarding public nuisance and inconvenience to residents of Meghdutam Apartments, Metro Niketan, Omax Twin Towers, Mahagun Maestro along with other highrise Societies of Sector 50, F Block, Noida, due to construction activities of a hospital and a mall. The appeal was to look into the irregularities of the construction norms.

Points highlighted were:

1. Approach road towards Sector 50 metro station is closed without proper prior intimation. No sign boards for diversions are displayed. This is going on for almost over a week now.

 2. Road in front of the above apartments is frequently made one way resulting in traffic congestion for school buses and residents commuting for work, which slows down traffic.

 3. As a result of poor planning by developers, senseless construction management and lack of proper checks in the system, this road has become accident prone. The one-way road is now regularly being used for two-way traffic.

4. Frequent roadblocks due to trucks, cranes and construction material movement without notice has become a pain for commuters in the area.

 5. Repeated requests for speed breakers at critical points has been pending for long.

 6. Due to ongoing work at the two sites, it has also become a security threat with increased movement of unidentified people. Needs more police patrolling in the area.

 7. Residents find entry and exit to their own respective society gates a big challenge as the road becomes congested during peak office hours.

 8. Compliances for construction norms for dust pollution are being ignored completely by the developers in the region. Fortunately, rains have been the saviour for residents.

 9. The collateral damage because of construction activity has been that the entire green belt next to the commercial complex is getting destroyed. Large number of fully grown trees around this area are on the verge of drying up because of construction activities.
