I had never imagined that the clothes worn at Holi, splattered as they are with colour, could be put to good use and prevented from being landfilled. However, this is exactly what we at South City1 did this Holi, by collecting our cleaned and dried Holi clothes and handing them over to ‘Saahas Zero Waste on 22 March. Residents of ‘The Retreat’ and ‘The Palms’ also joined us in this exercise and for this I am grateful to Dr Abha Sharma & Neeta Sharma respectively. We took the opportunity to hand over the rest of the Textile Waste from our homes as well, as we have been doing since April 2024. In all we collected and dispatched 558.6 kg of textiles including wearable clothes, Holi clothes as well as reject textile Waste.
