Suncity has been a sought-after address on the Golf Course Road and it witnesses new construction often by builders and owners of a property and many a times demolition and renovation of older properties. This ongoing activity of construction and demolition creates a huge amount of waste categorized as C and D waste, also called “Malba”. Construction sites often become unsightly while the construction is going on as there is a lot of construction waste lying around this area, similarly renovations of the residences in Suncity results in Malba lying around.
Saahas, an NGO, is spearheading the Project Bin Malba that enables the residents to contact the SRWA team to get the malba cleared as soon as possible from the site. Any renovation waste is taken up by the SRWA team, stored in an area near La Lagune and later disposed of judiciously to authorized waste management dealers. The malba can be picked up by the SRWA team with charges of Rs 50 per sack.
Sometimes while creating a beautiful ambience for themselves by getting a new house constructed or renovating their space, the residents might become oblivious to the unsightly view created by the malba around the construction or renovation site. This can be very well managed by using the facility that SRWA has come up with for disposing of the Construction and Demolition, C & D waste in the best way possible. The waste from SRWA goes to the waste management plant in Basai where there is a lot of waste that is recycled and treated appropriately. Irresponsibly getting rid of the waste by giving it to trucks that charge to take away this waste ultimately dump it anywhere on the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road, causing environmental degradation. We, as thoughtful residents, can make the right choice by getting the C and D waste going to the right place and conserving the environment with our responsible action.
