The Forum for Welfare of Senior Citizens celebrated the New Year Eve on 30th December 2023 at its Recreation Centre. 140 members attended the programme In which Gautam Khanna, a US resident and son of one of the members gave a musical performance that lasted over two hours. Gautam Khanna is an accomplished singer and has been singing for the last 48 years. He mesmerized the audience by his melodious voice. He also obliged the audience by singing songs of their choice.
The Organization also celebrated festival of Lohri on 13th January`24 by having bonfire at the Recreation Centre. They had folk singers and dancers from the Punjabi Academy, who performed in consonance with the festivities. There was a very spirited response from the female members of the audience, who not only joined the singers from the Punjabi Academy but also danced on the beat of the ‘Dhol’. The atmosphere was so charged that even men folk could not resist themselves from joining the ladies for dancing. It was an untiring response from the female members of the Forum. The audience enjoyed pop corns, rewaris, samosa and tea.
