Proactive Role of ARWA in Handling Civic Issues

In the last one month the ARWA has been proactive in tackling two important civic issues that were troubling the residents.

The first issue was regarding the steps taken for the prevention of mosquito borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, etc.

This was done through Mosquito fogging that is a popular form of pest control for both residential and commercial spaces. It is a pest control method that involves combining an insecticide with water to create a substance that is sprayed in the air. Mosquito fogging works by misting the air with a water and chemical solution using fogging machines or foggers. It is the ideal mosquito control method for places inundated with mosquitoes.

Regular fogging was carried out in the night. The best time to kill adult mosquitoes is by fogging at dusk, when they are most active and looking for food (mosquitoes feed on human or animal blood). The aerosol fog primarily targets flying mosquitoes, which is why the timing of the spray at this time was critical.

Other important civic issue that ARWA tackled was with the support of our MLA,  Naresh Yadav to refurbish and rebuild unpaved and damaged roads.

ARWA President, Vinod Pant who led this drive along with the Vice President, ARWA, Prateek Pathak said that the  dilapidated roads, even if they are located in a small neighbour-hood like ours, contribute to the city’s pollution level as the dust flying from such roads worsens the air. Dust pollution takes place due to the vehicular movement on damaged and worn-out roads surface”.

While the major part of the paving work has been completed, a small part is left as the work had to be suspended due to the current GRAP restrictions in force.

The Colony residents are thankful to the Management team of the ARWA and have committed their full support for such civic improvements in the future.
