Dr Anupma Bhardwaj President SDF arranged one workshop in collaboration with NGO Myloktantra, for Vatavaran karmcharis. The workshop was to take place in the SDF office. Unfortunately, one or two prominent residents were not OK with the thought that Safai karmcharis would be sitting in the same chairs which they have to use. They made a big hue and cry about it.
Dejected and disappointed, Dr Anupma Bhardwaj had to cancel the workshop for Safai karamcharis. Those karamcharis were equally disappointed and felt humiliated. To make them feel confident, loved and respected, Anupma invited all of them to her office and felicitated them.
Everyone was respectfully asked to grace the President’s Chair, then Anupma garlanded them all with folded hands. She thanked them for doing one of the most difficult jobs in the Sector. Thereafter they were treated to snacks and beverages.
We are living in the 21st century and it’s our humble request not to behave in this regressive manner, as every work is dignified and every person has dignity. We appreciate this gesture of Anupma Bhardwaj.
