The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak was celebrated at Wellington on 13th November. As we know, he advocated a universal God, the spirit of brotherhood and co-existence with nature. His wisdom-laden teachings told us long back that air is, our Guru, water our father and earth our mother, so we should not spoil them.
Wellingtonites celebrate it every year with great devotion and enthusiasm. Though the real birthday was on 8th November on Kartik Poornima, but it was decided to host the celebration and Langar on Sunday so that working ladies and gents, along with school-going children, could also attend it.
The program started at W1 park with Jap Ji Saheb path followed by melodious bhajans sung by Sangat. After Ardaas Karaah Prasad was distributed and about 500 people participated in the Langar.
