A 2-week event culminated at Gurpurab
The year 2025 began with a spiritual note. Gurudwara Sahib in Sector 136 organized Prabhat Pheri across various sectors to celebrate Gurpurab. In the 2-week event, the morning procession included singing hymns, sharing teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and fostering a sense of community. Participants from different areas joined in, reflecting the spirit of unity and devotion. Each day the Prabha Pheri started from Gurudwara (Sec-136) and reach a destination – a schedule was already prepared, which included Grand Omaxe, Silver City, ATS Village and other neighbouring points. After Samapti and Ardas at the destination, the pheri would return to the Gurudwara. “Such events are instrumental in spreading the message of love, equality, and service, reinforcing the Guru’s teachings in everyday life,” was the intent behind this celebration.
On 04 January, the Prabhat Pheri reached the main gate of Grand Omaxe (Sector 93B) as per the schedule. It was an early morning of bliss and blessings for the residents, when the procession entered the society and took the round of the entire complex. Shabad Gurbani, hymns and bhajans, over dholak, harmonium and bells brought the families out in their balconies. With folded hands they took the blessings and participated in the holy event. Covering all the blocks of the society, the pheri proceeded to the billiard room. Here the hall was decorated for Kirtan and Ardas. Later, langar was served to all, including the security guard team and the society staff. “The positive vibrations of the early morning were felt throughout the day,” was the collective comment.
On Gurpurab, 06 January, the celebrations at Gurudwara Sahib included a day-long path (recitation of scriptures) and Katha (spiritual discourse), focusing on the teachings and valor of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Additionally, a children’s quiz on Sikh history was organized to engage the younger generation and test their knowledge about the Guru’s contributions and sacrifices. This initiative not only educated children about their heritage but also instilled a sense of pride and connection to their roots, fostering a spirit of inquiry and reverence for the values embodied by Guru Sahib.
