Poor Condition of Colony Parks – Now A Usual Sight!!!

The poor condition of central Nallah Park is known to everyone but the latest is the bad condition of many other parks in the colony.

• The gates and railings have been broken at many places by the ragpickers who sell iron rods to Kabdiwala

• The tiles on the walking tracks are broken at many places, resulting in accidents with the senior citizens who walk regularly and spotted slipping. Some of the benches are also broken and need immediate repairs

• The Lights are not functioning which again is risky during early mornings or during evening walks especially in the winters

• The grass is also in very bad condition as these parks are used by outsiders very badly who play various big games and spoil the grass and plants.

• The local committees are there who sometimes contribute money for minor repairs etc. but there is a limit to their spending on these public parks!!

What’s required to keep these parks in good condition?

•The coordination between local park committees, RWA, MCD is required for the regular maintenance and repair of these parks

• In case of any issues reported by the park committee, the RWA should get it resolved with the support of MCD on priority as these parks are used daily.

• There should be some budget allocated for these parks by the RWA and MCD which can be used promptly in case of any need of repair etc.
