Police Took Strong Action
It was reported by some concerned & harassed residents in the first week of June that some servants supported by a few errant residents, who had the tactical support of a trouble maker of S Block, had started playing cricket at night from 11 pm to 1.30 am.
They used to make huge noises, creating trouble for the nearby residents. It was a law & order issue, where some were creating uncalled for situation.
Initially for two -three days our security guards of night shift tried to reason out with them but they did not relent, citing a person from a defunct outfit that he has permitted them to play.
Absolutely unacceptable & we were aghast that how can a fellow resident be so insensitive.
Anyway, our beat officers were informed on 13 June. Beat officer visited the site, noted down the names of 13 servants & two residents. Menace stopped for a few days but these guys started playing again from 23rd June onwards.
Finally fed up with these tantrums, I informed the SHO on 26 June & appraised him of the menace. Ajit Ji, sent a message & assured that he will ensure that no cricket is played at night.
A team comprising of four officers was deputed on the night of 27 June to apprehend the trouble makers.
They all ran away after hearing the sirens at about 11.30 pm.
The Police team again visited on 28 night. Parents of some youngsters were also counseled.
Thankfully the menace has stopped, for now.
Hopefully the self-styled Netas would also desist from trying to be extra constitutional authorities, trying to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the block. Thank You Ajit Ji & team for your understanding & cooperation.
