Our Counsillor Shikha Rai visited our colony on 15th July and launched the plantation drive. She planted a few trees and donated a few to be planted in the parks in the colony. She heard our complaints of garbage and cleanliness and safai karamchari very patiently. She spoke about how we should inculcate habit of having plants around and how to take care of them to ensure cleanair surrounding us. A similar plantation drive was promoted by our esteemed Seema Malhotra in the Govt. School, Saomi Nagar. The students and teachers had organized an excellent programme on occasion of plantation drive. A beautiful poem written by the teacher,Juhi Prakash Singh was sung beautifully by the children. All who participated in the plantation drive were gifted a file cover made by the children. The staff of the school were very gracious and had arranged for tea and snacks.
The counsillor also arranged for spraying at the breeding spots in the Colony’s parks and other areas. This was part of anti malaria/dengue drive. This is an aftermath of the recent monsoon fury.
