Plan for CNG Facility at B Block Petrol Pump, GK 1 Stalled

I am so pleased to report that due to the tireless efforts of all the residents under the able guidance of our President Gurparit Singh (Raja Puri), the work for the upcoming CNG facility at B Block Petrol Pump GK1 has been stalled. The unprecedented strong protest by more than 100 residents of GK1 N block (also joined by B block north residents) at the B block petrol pump and the ‘NO CNG facility in our GK1 residential area’ messaging campaign truly stunned the BPCL top brass and many local pundits.

Last week, a team comprising of President Raja Puri, Honorary Secretary Varun Garg, Vice President, Vikas Paul, spearheaded by Vinod Karwa met the top most officials of BPCL to present our case against the wrongful allocation of CNG facility at a fuel station located on the internal roads of a residential area.

Our campaign and concerns were very well covered by correspondents from National Newspapers like The Indian Express (IE) & Nav Bharat Times (NBT) and News Wallet.

Through the good offices of our office bearers & EC members, letters from leaders from all levels of governance from centre to state to municipal body added the much-needed boost.

On 8th August, we received a confirmation call from them that they are stalling the project till further notice. Gratitude to all the residents for their support without which this was impossible. We are also thankful to Bansuri Swaraj (MP), Saurabh Bhardwaj (Cabinet Minister Delhi Govt.) and Shikha Rai (Municipal Councillor) for their valiant support. Their letter of support highlighting our concerns has helped us make our voice heard at the very top management.

Here’s the extract from our President Gurparit Singh’s (Raja Puri) morale boosting message to NBWA: “From the last few days, my team has been working tirelessly to achieve the impossible and by blessings of all residents, we have done it. Another feather in the cap for NBWA”.

Together we can. Together we will. Keep up the momentum. Work together for each other
