Mobile snatching in and around the colony, especially on both sides of the Nallah Road has increased. Though the police patrolling and colony guards are taking rounds in these vulnerable areas the colony being a thorough fare it’s difficult to identify the culprits who take the advantage of the dark areas and commit such crimes.
Recently, Varun Anand a young resident of the colony was returning from the club and walking on the nallah road towards his house. While walking he responded to a call from his house and two boys wearing helmets came from behind and snatched his mobile and vanished in the darkness.
Varun screamed and called for help and ultimately found a colony guard who further called the police who came on the spot and registered an FIR. By God’s grace Varun did not suffer any physical harm but the poor youngster was mentally shaken up.
Taking cognisance of this incident we request residents not to use their phones while walking on the colony roads. If need be, we recommend use a head phone and put your phone in your pocket and be the first defence as far as personal safety is concerned.
