Alert Guard & Proactive Beat Officer
Guard Paras Kumar of SBWS saw a maid, weeping on the road side near S-183, in the afternoon on 2 Feb. On enquiry she told him that she dropped her purse con-taining an expensive Samsung phone & cash, a few minutes back, near the veg. vendor, Dilip, where she had come to buy vegetables. Guard Paras, who was in the vicinity at that time, remembered having seen an auto driver, picking up something from the same spot a few minutes back. He did not stop him, thinking that perhaps the driver had dropped something on the road.
Somehow, he remembered the last digits of the number plate (8164).
He immediately rushed to gate 2 of S Block & started scanning the video footage from the CCTV’s installed there.
Luckily, he could trace the auto & the number plate in the footage & observed the number as DL-1RW-8164. He immediately informed S Block beat officer, ASI Parveen Kumar about the incident & number of the auto.
ASI Parveen Kumar, immediately swung in to action & could obtain the mobile number of the auto owner & spoke to him. The person was called to the Police station, GK. Maid Aparna was also called to the PS & her mobile & Rs. 1300 were handed over to her. She was quite thrilled as she had given up hope. She works for KS Uppal (S 362, TF).
This story was shared in the S Block groups, the same evening. Lot of appreciation poured in for guard Paras for his alertness & commitment. Many residents along with SBWS announced cash rewards. He got Rs. 3600 in total.
I have sent a recommendation to the new DCP, Shri Chauhan to give a commendation certificate to the ASI, Shri Parveen & our guard, Paras Kumar.
