PERA Takes Timely Action to Avoid Traffic Problems

The complaints regarding the stinking toilet around the Holiday club was finally addressed and resolved. It has been removed from that place. The authorities should make alternate arrangements for public convenience i.e. especially for the drivers, maids who accompany the members of the club. There was a drain outside which was always overflowing and posed a health hazard as it was a bed for breeding mosquitoes. With incessant rains, the situation became worse. Now the parking area has been raised and the huge tree that had no place to breathe was given a boundary for support as per the green tribunal. Another tree near the Post Office was almost falling due to heavy downpour. The tree was saved and PERA took timely action by removing a few drooping branches so as not to cause traffic block or any damage to the passing vehicles. Lot of such trees with branches almost falling are a looming danger and immediate action should be taken to prune them. Water logging is another hazard in the colony. It causes spread of Dengue and other fatal illnesses. We need to make coordinated efforts with the local authorities to find a solution to the monsoon related problems. Heavy downpour can cause wires or branches to fall which is a danger to human life. This should be addressed immediately by PERA.
