While on a morning walk a few weeks ago, one of the plots GB members got a frantic call from a resident, about a peacock having been mauled by the territorial strays.
The QRT was immediately sent to the spot. The bird seemed to be in a really bad shape, having been bitten hard on it’s neck. It was decided to straightaway take the bird to Jain Charitable Bird Hospital. With the help of Lokesh Thakran, a resident of the Thakran farmhouse, the Peacock was transported to the bird hospital.
The medical team at the hospital swung into action soon after. In due course of treatment, the bird received 12 stitches on its neck. After spending a few days under expert care, the beautiful peacock is well on its way to recovery. It shall be released at a safe location where it will be monitored regularly.
Timely action by the resident and Federation resulted in a precious life getting saved and Malibu getting to enjoy its blissful presence for a long time to come.
