Patriotic Fervour @ 40 Community Centre

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the community centre. The programme started with flag hoisting by our chief guest naval Capt [retd] Navtej singh Gill.

He was invited along with his wife and mother. This was a very  special gesture by our RWA to have invited the brave soldier of India. If some people don’t know, Capt Navtej is one of the tough officers who were held by Qatar govt and after our govt’ s intervention , the officers were able to return to their homes.

President RWA Ashok Sharma praised and saluted the brave mother who had prayed nonstop for her son’s safe return. Finally her prayers were answered after an ordeal of 18 months.

After the flag hoisting it was time for the cultural programme. The hall  echoed with patriotic songs, dances and fancy dresses. Over enthusiasm of the sector children and their parents n grandparents was evident from the fact that a large number of children participants was there.

Our office manager Umesh sang a very joshila patriotic song. Our sector brilliant singer managed the stage along with singing a few songs.

There were painting and quiz competitions during the previous weekend. The prizes were given away by the chief guest. Capt Gill stressed upon the need to have love and integrity for our country.
