Who doesn’t love capturing memories in beautiful, aesthetic photographs to cherish forever? Be it a holiday destination, people or a special moment. Yes, we have our digital cameras built within our phones, but do they give us the beautiful studio finish that one would like to encase in a frame to hang up on our wall? Something that would draw impressed gasps from the audience looking at it. Something that would make us feel super special as we become the subject of attention, like a superstar basking in the camera lights! Well, our Hamlet has its very own professional photographer in Shiva.
She realized photography was her thing about a decade ago on a trip to Dehradun when she stopped at Rishikesh enroute. The spellbinding view as the mighty Ganges flowed by with colourful flora abounding inspired her to stop, pull out her camera and shoot away. The results blew her mind, and she knew she wanted more.
Shiva has a little daughter, and she wanted to look at a profession that would allow her to work on her own time. She jogged her mind back to the Rishikesh moment and she knew right then that she was going to pursue her passion for photography and make it into a profession.
Shiva took professional photography courses and went to Birmingham, UK to specialize in maternity, new-born and little kids’ photography. Anne Geddes inspired her; if you see the photos she takes of the babies dressed in their cute little costumes, it’s Geddes playing out.
Awe-inspiring digital effects imbued into Shiva’s work lead to phenomenal results. She has also introduced portraits recently and even shoots in open spaces like parks and historical monuments when she’s not shooting at her professional studio. Shiva also has this unique knack of making her subjects feel on top of the world, having made many an apprehensive person open and start posing like a pro. Hamlet wishes this brilliant photographer the very best in her journey as she prepares to bring a smile on many faces, her camera firmly tucked around her neck and an even bigger smile on her own lovely face!
