A large number of residents have can complaining to their MLA regarding overcharging by the parking contractors and they want his contract to be terminated as punishment.
Acting on their demand the area MLA Somnath Bharti visited the SDA market parking and found that all parking attendants were charging ¹ 50/- hour for cars. He seized the machine which has facility to raise ¹ 20 or ¹ 50 per hour rate as per the wishes of attendants. Attandants told him that contractor asks them to do this and accepted his fault. Bharti has promised to cancel the license of this contractor . Residents request legal action be taken to set an example that there is no tolerance for corruption.
Dy Commission Amit Kumar also came and found that there are multiple violations by these parking contractors. 1. Over charging on cars writing premium parking 2. Using unauthorised software to raise parking tickets. 3. Parking attendants not in uniform or identity cards 4. Charging exempted cars as well. He had seized the machine and has ordered forensic audit of software to pull out data of how much extra they have charged till date. He promised that he will take strict action and will update @h Somnath Bharti of such actions.
Such parking mafias are thriving in the city duping the shoppers and charging exorbitant money which is totally illegal. The same is happening in Green park market and Kamal cinema market of Safdarjung Enclave which is frequently visited by a large no of people from all over the city. The parking contractors are making huge money right under the nose of a police station at SJ Enclave. Who is responsible for this mess??
