When I shifted to DLF phase 1 in 2013, the scenario of Arjun Marg shopping mall was absolutely different. In the span of 10 years things have changed upside down, quite literally.Being a resident of this area I was usually proud with power of the address that came along but today, looking at the chaos that is created due to uncountable vehicles is unexplainable.
The closure of two plots, which were mainly used for parking the cars of the people visiting the shopping mall, has caused immense parking issues in the area. The association must make relevant spaces and not use personal plots for parking. It so happened when the owner came to visit his plot, couldn’t find space to park his own car and hence on came the fencing of the plot.
Looking at the present condition, and doing the math for the future – it absolutely scares me, as we have nearly 150-200 new construction happening in the area which means about 200 more families and therefor about 400-500 more cars. Can we even imagine that looking at the current parking situation ?
It should also be noted that people have started parking in empty plots in the residential area which are considerably far from the market. Also the guards that are allocated for the help for the visitors are treated like in-house servants and, at least, I have never seen anyone taking them seriously.
Certain immediate remedies need to be taken by the market association and RWA’s. Strict rules must be made for each and everyone visiting the shopping mall. One of the measure which immediately can be enacted upon is making entry and exit points and strictly keeping them one way. It would surely ease the traffic jams in front of the houses.
With little bit of effort and attention we all together can solve this parking chaos in our ever-loved Arjun Marg shopping mall.
