In this era of pollution, food adulteration, fast city life, busy life-style, there is a lot of stress, mental strain & anxiety & depression. Everyone around seems disturbed mentally and anxious. Keeping this in mind, we invited Swati Bhatia, a naturopathy doctor, masters in food & nutrition. As it’s said, “Don’t take medicine as food, which normally people do after a certain age, rather take food as medicine “She explained very well the value of adopting naturopathy as our life -style, as the food we eat has a direct impact on our health and moods.
The daily routine she advised to enjoy a healthy and happy life is as follows. 1.Get up early in morning, rub your palms, place them gently on your eyes. 2 Detox yourself with jeera, ajwain water. Take a few nuts along. 3. Take a walk for 20-25 minutes alone. Listen to good music of your choice. Do yoga in nature, Do laughter therapy, as it’s well said, “laughter is the best medicine “4.Take breakfast of poha, upma, dalia, millets, sprouts and green vegetables. 5. Take fruits as your mid day snack. Your diet should contain Omega-3 fatty acid and Protein. 6. Eat a plate of salads, better if steamed if not pure and organic. Have lunch after that. 7.Evening snacks could be of makhane, gur–chana or the alternatives. Generally speaking, a bath with a tablespoon of alum powder in warm water is very beneficial for stress and anxiety. Mud therapy also helps. Use mustard oil or cow’s ghee. No refined oils, fried foods.
Accept your shortcomings and of the other person as is. Pursue a hobby like singing, music, knitting or anything that you missed out on in your busy schedule. Adopt “I first”, like the air hostess says, “tie an oxygen mask yourself, before putting on others. Last but not least, adopt a thinking, “All is well”.
