Palms Watched The Beautiful Mens Wimbledon Final

This was an even match. from where I am at 50 both men showed amazing appetite and reserves of energy. The weariness both physical and mental showed in both. Over a week of playing several hours on the performance stage and countless hours of training and practice. Plus the over five-hour match that the final turned out to be.

It was astounding to have both players push themselves for that extra, also their errors and follies. I started giving up after the third set, but Djokovic came back, and how! And demanded a fifth set be played. Full value for money for those who paid the 300 pounds for the Wimbledon seats and for those of us watching glued as they kept hitting the ball repeatedly, till there was a winner. The final set was cracking, where they brought out their more special weapons (sports as war, huh!) and hurled them across the net. If one went by statistics, by the time they were 4 games all in the last set something popped up on the screen that they had won 160 points each in the game this far. Sadly, there was only one cup to give.

Djokovic does not look like he is going away any time soon. And Alcaraz clearly has many more years ahead of him. So, we will continue to take pleasure watching the gladiators in the ring, passing comments, getting excited, getting anxious, getting disappointed, or celebrating, as we watch the beautiful game!

“I think Alcaraz is a better player because he is younger, so he has more energy than Djokovic”, says Meher Mekhla, 9-year-old resident of Palms.

“Djokovic was trying hard but still Alcaraz won. I like Alcaraz because he is a very good player and he tried ever harder” – Anand (9-year-old resident of Palms)
