On the occasion of 77th Independence day of our country, Green Park Extension Association celebrated the occasion by organizing a painting competition for the children. A renowned children’s hospital of South Delhi sponsored the gifts for the children.
The executive committee of Green Park Extension Association celebrates the Independence day every year in the K block of the colony, in its beautiful park, well maintained by the maalis of the Association. The residents of the colony gathered together to hoist the flag and sing the national anthem by 11 a.m.
The painting competition commenced after the national anthem and the children participated in it enthusiastically. From the tiny tots to the tweens, children were busy drawing on their sheets. The children were divided into three categories age wise and the theme of the competition was Unity in diversity, Future of India and Yeh Mera India. All the three themes could be seen drawn onto the plain white sheets and thereafter coloured beautifully to give them life.
Bhavya Gupta got the first prize with Pratishtha Jain coming in second and Dhriti Gupta achieving the third prize respectively. Parv Sarna and Kavya got consolation prizes. The children were provided painting kits by the sponsoring hospital. This was followed by tea and snacks arranged by the Association.
