The issue of overflowing overhead tanks has now become quite common in Def Col due to the careless attitude of some residents who are not bothered about the wastage as they feel water is a cheap commodity and waste it as and when they want to!! They also use gallons of water to wash their vehicles, and water plants, even water roads to keep their houses away from the dust but is this the way to manage this precious natural resource??
Water pumps are being installed with low-cost voice alarms. These alarms either don’t work or residents ignore the alarm sound and the water keeps overflowing for hours. The job of switching on the water pump machine is given to the servants who generally forget to switch off machine after the alarm sounds that Water tank is full, pl. switch off the pump). The water at times even starts to over flow on the roads, creating cracks and filth all over the area. This also results in mosquito breedind in the colony to spread Malaria and other diseases.
The only solution is to install automatic control water pump machines at your house which will automatically start and stop after the tank in filled 90%. This will save your water, electricity and buildings.
