We all are aware of and are facing the stress of the fast pace of life, where balancing the daily challenges becomes a task. Thinking beyond their own, some residents of Omaxe Twin Towers (OTT) are running a Welfare Trust to give a helping hand to those who help in making their lives comfortable.
The idea took shape among the five founding members – Vinod Grover, Ashok Chopra, Hansmukh Prajapati, Suman Jain and Vineet Grover. They formed a trust, Omaxe Welfare Trust, and got it registered. Funded by the trust members, the Trust also receives voluntary contribution from the OTT residents which go for the welfare activities of the entire working staff within the complex – drivers, household helps, the gardeners, housekeeping staff and the security staff. The welfare activities are running in the third years now, with full satisfaction.
There are terms and conditions laid down for the eligibility of the benefits, the main being that the staff benefitting under this should have been working for at least 2 years in the society.
On education front, free books and school uniform are provided for girl child at the starting of the school session according to the book list given by the school. To keep account of this annual expenditure, a person takes round of the schools to verify that the girl child is indeed studying there.
For health benefit, medical camps are held from time to time to have blood pressure and sugar levels testing and other health issues too. Doctors are arranged to visit the society and consultation fee paid by the Trust. This benefit is also for the children and spouse of the staff. Keeping the society’s bye-laws in mind, no outsider is allowed to avail this facility. Financial assistance is provided during emergencies and urgent medical need.
Financial help is also provided during the wedding of the daughters.
Working of the Trust is managed by the members; nominated amongst themselves are the following: Vinod Grover as president, Ashok Chopra as vice-president, Suman Jain as secretary and Hansmukh Prajapati as treasurer.
Sensitive to the needs of the staff and providing them for their welfare is indeed an example that other societies can also follow.
