All you morning walkers must have seen many a unique personality while strolling/ hurtling through the walkways each morning. From the very focused walker to the focused talkers, to the reclusive ones, and the gregarious ones, to those with a sneer/ snort disposition reflected on their facial features.
And then there are some who strike you, not just from their dispositions, but with a barrage of conversation! A striking pair that all of us may have chanced upon in the mornings, always smiling and extending their greetings to all and sundry, are the Sabharwals of 14183.
Mr. Anil and Mrs. Madhu Sabharwal, both having retired from their services at Air India, are quite the pair. He, extremely chatty, funny, and sometimes loud (much to the consternation of the Mrs.), while she, sophisticated and dainty, make for a fun Jodi.
Mr. Sabharwal says, “Most people always doubted our courtship as we were literally Chalk and Cheese… But here we are, so many years later, enjoying our retirement!”
Of course, when they are not off to their Hamlets in the hills or by the beach, or travelling, one can often find them chit chatting with passers-by, and greeting every canine friend. Often, you also see them share goodies from their farms with their friends.
So, what makes this pair so striking? As they say, opposites attract, and it also works well together for both. They are our fun-loving and funny friends who are constantly badgering each other, joking about each other with a dry and slapstick sense of humour.
He keeps her and everyone else entertained with incidents, stories, and songs. Also, both are equal partners in running the house and undertaking the chores, which is a sign of a great partnership! A very endearing aspect is their never-ending leg-pulling for each other, and anyone else who gets in the way!
Kudos to both, long may they remain happy!
