Trucks parked overnight on the PWD/ NIFT road till yellow gate leading into Z & X blocks. They were earlier parked near Green Park Metro Station and General Raj’s School. In the morning leads to a lot of congestion on NIFT road. As it is pavement is inaccessible on top of which school buses use this route. Due to trucks being parked on either side of the road it becomes virtually impossible to walk on the road. I saw senior citizens struggling to gain access into Gulmohar Park this morning as the road was crowded with buses, trucks and other vehicles.
Action Required: Removal of trucks and vehicles parked haphazardly. The trucks should not be allowed to park here overnight and the owner must find an alternative place for the same or some heavy fine must be imposed on him. The drivers drink at night and it can pose a security risk to the residents inside the colony. If this issue is not resolved it will become a permanent feature on this road.
Similar is the case of C1 block where Sahodaya school is situated. Residents are upset about the school buses forever parked on the colony roads making the area congested. This is a very busy road which is used by residents to enter the colony from Green park and Hauz Khas village side. After school hours the buses have no meaning to be stationed in the roads. Ideally these should be either parked inside the school or elsewhere. It requires major drill by the traffic police to regulate traffic on third busy road.
Sadly these issues have been plaguing the colony for so many years but despite many complaints and endless efforts by residents/ RWA’ s no positive result is visible. Hope the authorities wake up from their deep slumber and take initiative in getting the issue resolved at the earliest.
