Every day as we surf through the multitude of WhatsApp groups that abound in the virtual space of AOH, we come across numerous types of posts. Some are informational, others opinion based (and very strong ones at that), while others are still whimsical at best (and we have touched upon that as well in the past).
It is interesting (laughable, really) when you have people who are not part of the society but remain part of the ‘society groups’, commenting on incidents and everyday occurrences with such elan!
And still, there is a large quantum of posts that we would classify as promotional.
Those set of promotional posts are a world within themselves- from home food (and goodness the variety of home food offerings at Hamlet, from salads, soups, starters, main course, multiple cuisines and desserts), to clothing, jewellery, décor, home furnishings, realty, stationery, gifts for children, and what have you!
While it is tremendously heartening to learn that our very own Hamlet is a one-stop shop for all your immediate needs, it can be a little overwhelming at times, especially as numerous promotional posts take over bulk of the conversation.
While even that is something one can find solutions for, by creating different promotional groups, what is strange is when you find out that some of those posting promotions everyday do not even reside here!
So what are they doing here? Some good Samaritan may have added them one-time; they refuse to move out now. Perhaps they may have resided here for a short while, but Hamlet is too good, too lucrative a market to get out of, isn’t it?
Now with WhatsApp groups allowing more members, we have all lost count of who is who!
So they plough on every day, in the hopes of appealing to someone or many in a given day with their myriad offerings. To paraphrase a common saying, you can leave Hamlet, but Hamlet will never leave you!
