Noise Pollution -A Pain for Residents

lready suffering from the consequences of commercialization the residents of D block mainly near Def Col flyover are having sleepless nights due to high volume of music played by the pubs on their roof tops and restaurants. Mostly senior citizens staying in the back lane are the direct recipients. These bars play music at more than 75 Decibles till One at night where the prescribed limit is less than 45 and till 1100 hrs. For these residents it’s not only a health hazard but also a financial drain, as they are losing their tenants because of this noise pollution. The SHO and security team with some residents has taken action and many a time they have been challaned and equipment confiscated. The owners every time promise but still the situation comes back to square one after a few days.
