The Noida Authority organised a felicitation function ‘Swachchta Sahyog and Swachchta Nayak Sammaan Samaaroh’ on 4 April in Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sec 6.
NA CEO, Ms. Ritu Maheshwari, presided over the ceremony. Senior officers, along with those of the Health Department and representatives from FONRWA, NOFAA, DDRWA, NOVRA, NEA and the media were present.
The ceremony was organised to recognize all the warriors who have been working endlessly and tirelessly in this direction. Several organisations and NGO Messrs. Guided Fortune Samiti worked together to ensure that the event was well-planned, and the message reached all.
The objective is to ensure that we all join hands to keep our city clean and beautiful through sustainable waste management processes, eradicating the use of polybags completely, stopping spitting in public places, encouraging use of public toilets, and educating all segments of the city about the correct practices of hygiene and waste management.
We are witnessing how Noida has been consistently improving its cleanliness quotient and beautification, wall arts, along with a lot of progressive development of roads, foot over bridges, flyovers and well-maintained parks and green covers.
Consequently, Noida’s ranking in the All India ‘Swachchta Sarvekshan’ has been steadily improving too.
To make Noida the best in the country, Ms. Maheshwari urged all present to make conscious and sincere efforts in this direction by becoming the extensions of the Noida Authority officials. It is only then that we can achieve the coveted highest ranking in ‘Swachchta Sarvekshan 2023’! She lauded the good work done by people and organisations.
The Ceremony began with Ms. Maheshwari flagging off 20 ‘Swachchta’ QRT vehicles that have been pressed into action for door-to-door garbage collection. A QRT team has been instituted for the same.
A Sky Balloon, with ‘Swachchta Sarvekshan 2023’ printed on it, was hoisted to mark the start of serious and collaborative work by all stakeholders.
The MSW workers were awarded with certificates and cash prizes. The active ‘Swachchta Satark Naagriks’ from RWAs, AOAs, villages, some companies, and some even independent, were awarded certificates.
Among many awardees, Abhishek Gupta (T-25), Pawan Yadav and Suresh Verma from Lotus Boulevard and Century Apartments, respectively, were honoured with certificates. Gita Nath, also a Boulevard resident, was felicitated in the category of individual contributor.
It is urged that more and more people from Sector 100 join this initiative and help to make our city the cleanest.
All attendees took an oath to spend at least two hours per week for this and to involve more and more people to join this campaign. The function ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by OSD, Mr. Indu Prakash.
