On the morning of the 15th December 2023, Aashish Arora was on his way to the hospital with his father. As they stepped out of their house, C 8 South City1, at 11:20 am, he noticed that the cover of the underground water tank was missing. When they checked out the CCTV footage, they saw it being removed by a man at 11:16 am.
What is really surprising is that the theft took place in the middle of the morning and that too at a place with a high footfall considering their house is right opposite Medham School.
Since they were busy doing the hospital rounds, they let the matter rest, but when I spoke with Aashish a few days later he said they definitely planned on giving the CCTV footage to the Police Station.
Instances such as this one, bring to sharp focus, the glaring issue of security, which is conspicuous by its absence.
