Necessity is the mother of invention, but not only in terms of any medical breakthrough or as tools for medical or engineering marvels. It can be of relevance in Social Engineering too!
Today, Nirvana is full of Greenery and Serenity which is a prime attraction for people both the young and seniors from all walks of life.
Circa 2014, while Nirvana was evolving in many aspects. Four senior citizens- Anil Dixit, Vinod Jalota (Cousin Anoop Jalota), Arun Sharma (Rtd HCS) and Rajan Gulati (Deceased), happen to come in contact during their morning walks. Sometimes they met in the evening and while sitting on the Parks benches, with hung faces sat in silence and sometimes made attempts to get to know each other.
Slowly, while introducing themselves to one another, they realised that all four were Single! Single by God’s choice having lost their life partners early during their journey of Life. All four had lost their life partners (wives) due to some fatal disease or terminal illnesses.- Personal tragedies brought them closer and slowly their bond became stronger.
That was the time Whatsapp had started gaining popularity, and the foursome decided to create a group by the name of “Youngboys” albeit Seniors who decided to remain young at heart despite their personal loss. The effort was to overcome their fears and address the vacuum in their lives. Slowly with time, the seed of Young Boys has grown into a full-fledged tree with fifty members across Nirvana.
All members assemble in Deerwood Main Park in the morning after their brief morning walk individually or in a group, do stretching, bending exercises with izk.kk;ke, chanting mantras like the xk;=kh eU=k] guqeku pkyhlk vkSj ue% f’kok; etc.
All National and Social festivals are celebrated with full fervour and passion, and particularly festivals are celebrated with prescribed rituals in our scriptures.
Every Sunday after finishing the daily rituals, High Tea is served by a member, whose Birthday or Marriage Anniversary falls during the corresponding week.
Any Senior across Nirvana is welcome to join this group. The only requirement, qualification and expertise required is – Be young at Heart.
