Trees are the assets of Nirvana Country. We are because our Trees are! There are uncountable, tangible and intangible benefits of the existence of these green gi-ants around our homes here. Be it lower temperatures, cleaner air, microclimate or a huge benefit of carbon sequestering in addition to flora and fauna and natural beauty.
September 15th was a proud day for Nirvana Horticulture when we donated over 800 such saplings to a well-known organisation ‘Give Me Trees Trust’.
In Nirvana, we have a wide range of tree varieties of high environmental and utility values- native, medicinal, exotic, forest, urban, timber, avenue and so on. Most of the varieties are self-seeding. During their fruiting seasons many fruits and seeds fall to ground. Good monsoon and fertile soil are the only two requirements of a seed to come to life. Nirvana Soil which is rich in organic matter, clean, free from chemicals and less disturbed, gives them the right ambience so the tree families multiply. We plant many of them in-house under a horticulture plan and the extras we nurture to share with the community. Tree sapling sharing is considered as one of the most noble, intangible, farsighted act with a positive impact on our future generation.
This monsoon, we had almost 600 extra, well settled, baby trees in our nurseries waiting for good homes. We decided to give good homes to these babies through ‘Give Me Trees Trust’. ‘Give Me Trees Trust’ is founded by well known ‘Peepal Baba’ who plants trees across the country where they are required the most.
On September 15th, Vineet Vohra from the trust visited Nirvana Country to accept the donated tree saplings from our Malis. All the horticulture staff had gathered in the Birch Court small park to welcome Vohra. The Mali teams from each block had proudly got their collection to donate. Team AG had collected 152 saplings. Team BC- 126, Team CC- 78, Team DW- S Block- 24, Team DW-123 and Team ES had got 178 saplings. Many residents too donated many saplings picked up from their roofs, car parking areas and home gardens. The total tally of donation plants went over 800. Horticulture In charge Vinesh Kumar and Horticulture Supervisor Ajai Gupta got the saplings meticulously loaded in 3 different carriers and kept them ready near the function venue.
Vineet Vohra shared many knowledgeable as well as fun facts about a few trees and appreciated the flora fauna of Nirvana Country. Each Mali team proudly announced its count of nurtured babies while donating. Door Darshan Kisan channel camera team recorded the entire event under their series ‘ek ped ma ke naam’ initiated by honourable PM Narendra Modi. The program was aired on DD Kisan channel on 21st Sept at 09:00 am and 19:00 pm.
