The project started some three months ago and was recently completed. Now all roads inside the complex are bituminized (bitumin mix), including open parking areas. The major work was done during the extreme summer (best for road laying), so it is expected to last longer. This work was done some nine years ago and was thus overdue. Residents now expect smooth walking surfaces, bump-free driving, and virtually no puddles during rain as leveling and slope have been considered in finishing surfaces. We collected the total cost from the owners based on the size of their flats. Though the work caused many inconveniences to residents, like traffic diversion, parking woes, noise, and dust pollution, all this was borne by them without fuss or rancor. Cooperation and patience have thus contributed to the success and timely completion of the project. A five-year maintenance contract has been signed with the contractor on a free-of-cost basis. This has been a big-ticket project in Ridgewood for many years. The ambience in Ridgewood has dramatically changed, as is obvious from the photographs.
