End of Sewer Blockages & Choked Drains
Sec A Pocket C is the oldest colony of Vasant Kunj going back to over 35 years. The sewer lines are old often resulting in choking, clogging and blockages from the far end of the first lane blocks around Block 7 to across the boundary wall behind CDR School. From time to time, DJB would manually clear the same on a temporary fix basis on requests from the ARWA Sec A Pocket C.
In June 2022 request was sent to DJB to find a permanent solution with respect to the de-silting of choked lines, blocked drains and broken Sewer covers. Proposal was sent regarding laying down new Sewer Lines behind Blocks 5, 6 & 7 and connecting them with the Main Sewer line that runs across the Colony roads.
De-silting was carried out in July 2022. Subsequently, the DJB tender was awarded for clearing of the choked Sewer lines, replacement of drain covers and laying down the new Sewer lines. This was facilitated by the MLA Naresh Yadav and the DJB Executive Engineer and other Officers. Thus the sewer line work started at Sec A Pocket C to resolve the old blockage issues and provide a complete solution.
At the Inauguration ceremony held in December ‘22, a galaxy of distinguished persons were present such as the MLA Naresh Yadav, Ameena Talwar, Secy Gen and Ashok Vermani, Adviser of the Federation of RWAs of VK , Ex. President Vinod Pant, ARWS Executive Committee members- President Amit Agarwal, as well as Sushila Bhadola, Security In charge and Dr Rita Rawal, Treasurer, DJB Engineers and Officers as also ARWA Sec A Pocket C Executive Committee members comprising of Prateek Pathak, President, Rajesh Nayyar Vice President, Amar Baveja, Secretary, Navneet Gupta, Treasurer, MM Agrawal, Joint Treasurer Dr Varun Bhardwaj Jt Secretary. DN Bhardwaj, Former Secretary, Madhavi Kumar, Executive Committee Member and resident members of the Colony.
It is expected that the ongoing work would be completed by the end of Jan ‘23. Once again we would like to thank Naresh Yadav for his continued support to the RWAs of Vasant Kunj.
