Vasant Vihar’s GSCH Society’s Gift for Shanti Niketan
Community Samvada since its inception has been recommending to convert Kalyan Kendra into a sports and cultural center. In our first issue in March 2010, we published an article Kalyan Kendra Community Centre Should Be Converted into A Sports & Cultural Club” then again in July 2014 we wrote, ‘Kalyan Kendra Should Be Converted into a Sports & Cultural Club’ then in August 2018 we wrote, ‘Shanti Niketan Needs a Sports & Cultural Club for Its Overall Development’.
It’s a matter of great pride that the dreams of Shanti Niketan residents are ûnally coming true. The new Recreation Centre at Kalyan Kendra is now taking shape. The GSCHB Society with the cooperation of SNRA has now started to implement the construction plans of this new facility.
This new centre is going to be housed in a modern building and the boutique facility will have a multi activity sports hall, a modern gym, a spa and salon and a cafeteria for its members. The building plans (see picture above) have been approved and the construction is going to start soon.
This could not have been possible without the help of our parent body GSCHB Society. We should appreciate their agreement and understanding. Samvada congratulates GSCHB for this beautiful gift and our best wishes for a successful completion of the project.
