The elections for the new managing committee of RWA sector 40 for the term 2023 – 2025 were scheduled for Sunday 4 June, followed by General Body Meeting.
Since there was only one set of executive members and office bearers who filled the nominations, there were no elections.
The outgoing president Mr Sehgal thanked the residents for their constant support for his team during his term of two years. He briefed that many developmental tasks were completed while many are in the process of completion. The balance sheet of last term was presented which was approved unanimously.
The new president Ashok Sharma, on accepting the responsibility, assured the residents of good teamwork by the new committee. He also urged the residents to come forward and work with RWA for the betterment of the sector.
The outgoing team’s member and general secretary in the new team Poonam Sharma also spoke about how we can work together for our sector and that there is no magic wand with anyone. The tasks, especially in control of the Noida Authority, take time to complete. Who so ever takes responsibility, knows that the time and willingness to work for society are very essential.
The new team as announced by the election officer Naveen Chhibber (D 81) is President- Ashok Sharma( D 69), V President- Pranav Anand (B 68), General Secretary- Poonam Sharma (C84), Treasurer- Anil Gupta (F27). Block representatives are A Block- Arun Sharma(A 61), A Block – Gurpreet Chadha (A 123), B Block- Abha Sardana (B 46), C Block – A k Sehgal (C 57), D Block – Sameer Kumar (D 15), E Block- Vinit Mehra (E 53), F Block- Renu Dhawan (F 51) All the members of the new team were inducted into the oath of sincerity and honesty by the election officer. The new committee has four ladies out of 11 members which is a progressive sign. There are some new faces in the team which is again a very good sign of the fact that residents want to contribute in terms of ideas, knowledge and suggestions for the upkeep and progress of their own sector.
Another important factor that needs to be considered is to include young people in the team. They may not be able to devote full time, but can definitely share their knowledge and expertise once a month. What about co opting a few new young minds? The experience of the old generation combined with new-age technological knowledge and expertise can do wonders for the sector.
