The grand celebrations commenced with lighting of the lamp, invoking blessings of God accompanied with chanting of Om.
Senior ladies of the Sector, Mrs Kaul, Mrs Sial, Mrs Uma Bagla, Mrs Kiran Tripathi & Ms Smitha Shah were invited to light the lamp. The ceremony surely created a divine aura emanating positive vibes.
Soon thereafter Neeta Dogra, President Ladies Club Committee, formally welcomed the ladies to the event and introduced her team.
The cultural feast began with Nidhi Bansal’s presentation of delicate & enchanting dance movements and amazing facial expressions in sync with the lyrics of Rabindranath’s melody. Stunning Richa Gupta thereafter lit up the floor with her energetic and splendid dance performance on medley of songs filmed over the years on Raveena Tandon.
Befitting the occasion, a semi classical, captivating Teej folk song was presented by Mala Mathur, Vandana Shukla and Gopi Swaroop.
Ms Vandana Shukla, who is blessed with rhythm and a melodious voice, presented a solo song exhibiting emotion and connection with the song.
Both renditions made for a festive mood and the audience happily clapped along.
Teej celebrations are not complete without the vibrant Ghoomar folk dance, and gorgeous Rachna Pandey and Pushpa Sanwal performed gracefully to the beat of foot-tapping music and left the audience mesmerised.
By the end of the cultural programme, most of the ladies were in the mood to dance and they set the floor on fire, happily connecting with each other and having total masti.
Photo shoots, especially on the jhoola set up as a part of décor, were a real hit!!
The environment was charged with bonhomie, cheer and joy.
Soon it was time to savour lunch together and relish the goodies.
After a hearty lunch it was time to say bye, and the committee members received appreciation for the meticulous organisation of the Teej festival.
The committee extends their special thanks to Anita Jaswal, Khushi Srivastav, Shwetna Gupta and Nitu Aggarwal as volunteers for the above event.
