New Friends Colony Residents Demand Restoration of Original Bus Routes

Residents of New Friends Colony are deeply concerned about change to Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) bus routes. These alterations have resulted in buses operating through the residential lanes of Mata Ka Mandir Road New Friends Colony, creating serious issues for the community.

Key Concerns

Safety Hazards: The narrow residential lanes are not meant for heavy buses, putting senior citizens, children, and women at risk. A recent accident involving a DTC cluster bus resulted in one fatality and five injuries after the bus lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles in New Friends Colony.

Daily Life Disruptions: The rerouted buses bring excessive noise, congestion, and disturbances, negatively impacting the quality of life for residents.

Compromised Peace & Liveability: The deviation from the original route is unnecessary and is affecting the safety, environment, and well-being of the community.

Despite repeated complaints, the DTC and DIMTS authorities have not taken concrete action, showing a lack of understanding and urgency regarding this issue.

Urgent Request:

We demand the immediate restoration of the original bus routes, redirecting buses back to their proper path via:

Ashram ® Ring Road ® Kilokri ® Maharani Bagh ® Women’s Polytechnic ® Taimoor Nagar® C Block NFC ® Bharat Nagar

This corrective action is essential to restore safety, peace, and normalcy in our neighbourhood. The residents of New Friends Colony will not remain silent until this issue is resolved.
