Like every year this year also witnessed a pious and reverent Navaratri. All nine days of Durga paath, aarti, bhog and prasad kept residents glued to Mata-ka-Darbar set up in the club house. The icing on the cake was on the ninth day, Navami, with Dandiya.
As Shubhians are becoming culturally inclusive and open, the popular cultural and festive event — Dandiya and Garba night — has now made its way into the premises of Shubhkamna society this year. The event was facilitated by Shalu Chawla, and dance and music coordinated by Sarika Singhal.
Ladies of Shubhkamna attended dandiya practice sessions with high spirit and zest before the actual event. The evening was marked by attendance from 60 to 70 women, adorned in the beautiful traditional Gujarati or the Marwari attire. Food stalls for delectable snacks were arranged to add to the joy and delight of the evening. As the beats of the folk music reverberated across the society, there were candid moments of fun and laughter to cherish. With the rhythmic dancing, all women embodied the divinity of Goddess Durga, bringing into the society the blessings of Mata Rani.
