To keep the tradition alive RW&CS every year celebrates Nav Samvat and this year they called a group of bhajan singers from Iskcon temple and marked the start of Hindu new year with the chanting of the mantra “Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama… Rama Rama Hare Hare, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna… Krishna Hare Hare”. According to them this is a magical mantra of sixteen words, which should be recited by everyone. RW&CS has been continuously improving the standard of their programs and keep thinking of doing something new. The evening was packed with residents especially the senior citizens who didn’t want to miss this bhajan sandhya even though it rained heavily that evening. The program which was to be held on the lawns had to be shifted to Gangotri hall. The hall was nicely decorated with flowers and balloons and idol of Krishna was kept near the stage. Bhajan party also brought beautiful musical instruments with them and the entire gathering got mesmerized by their singing and music. They also talked about their devotion towards Krishna and asked everyone to get connected with God and how one can benefit by it. The program ended with arti of lord Krishna and prasaad of aaloo poori and halwa.
