After a long spell of inactivity, Malibuites stirred into the festive spirit with the ushering in of Hariyali Teej. Excitement around the Teej celebration began to build up and preparations started in full swing.
The final event on 7th Aug saw Central Park come alive with beautiful floral decorations and music.
The RWA had organized an evening of Tambola, Dance and music. The highlight of the evening was the ‘Miss Teej’ event which comprised two categories: ‘Madame Teej’ for ladies with grandchildren and ‘Miss Teej’ for younger mothers.
It was a delight to see our grand ladies walk the ramp and showcase their talents and charisma.
The participants had to fulfil an interesting combination of requirements to win the crown for the Sarv Gunn Sampann Naari included:
• Wearing an attire that was a combination of the dresses of two or more Indian states.
• Sharing a unique recipe
• Chanting a Sanskrit Shloka
• Showcasing a talent
The participants regaled the audience with their charm and talent and the judges had a tough time deciding the winners.
Mrs Kanchan Minocha was crowned Madam Teej along with Lalita Bajaj, Rajesh Kumari and Suman Setia.
The Miss Teej category had the following winners:
Meenakshi Chaudhry, Mini Gupta, Ashima Arora, Bhavna Khare
The Judges Choice Prize was awarded to Kirti Goyal.
