I wish to share my amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience with you all!
Along with other students of my class 1, I was introduced to the celebrated storyteller, Ruskin
Bond through a special Morning Assembly in my school. We made a presentation on ‘The Blue Umbrella’, an interesting book by Ruskin Bond about Biniya and her blue umbrella.
Since then, I have read many stories by Ruskin Bond. The distinguished Anglo-Indian writer is famous for his children’s stories. He has been living in Landour, Mussoorie since a long time.
My parents planned a trip to Mussoorie so that we could wish him on his 89th birthday on 19 May. He meets people at Cambridge Book Stall, the Mall, Mussoorie. We met and wished him.
Ruskin Bond met us and many other people at the store with kindness and love. I bought several books written by him from this bookstore. He even autographed a book, ‘Great Stories for Children’ for me.
I want to become a celebrated writer like Ruskin Bond. I will treasure the autographed book and the pictures with him for ever!
