My Country (Poem)

The smell of the earth holds me back
The culture of my people cherishes me,
The festivity drags me to uniqueness,
The intellect of my clan  mesmerises me!

Countless languages each one so unique,
Various religions, every one so meaningful,
Food of different states all so tasty,
Attire of different sect ..so attractive..

Vedas, Upanishads … home of deepest philosophies,
Epics and lyrics …. teach us to lead lives,
The birth of yoga and its postures, our rare treasures,
Science and technology leads us to progress!

Oh Almighty! Can there be anything which I could ask more?
Where could I find this Unity in Diversity???
Where could I enjoy this inner sanctity???

Proud to be an Indian…and love to be for ever and ever!!
